Upcoming: ‘Martagalay’ by Joshua de Gruchy.

Solo Exhibition Presented by HAKE House of Art

We are delighted to announce Joshua de Gruchy upcoming solo exhibition, opening at HAKE HOUSE this November.

Joshua de Gruchy b.1999 is a painter from Western Australia who is currently based in Victoria.

He responds to the colour and forms distinctive of the landscapes he moves between, and studies the European impressionists and twentieth century artists of Australia to develop his own language in abstraction.

While in residence at the Dunmoochin Foundation, de Gruchy reflects on the timeline and changes in his work over the last five years; naming this collection of paintings the invented word of MARTAGALAY to describe the combined influence of seemingly unrelated things.

    Featuring artworks from past, current, and upcoming presentations, the stockroom offers the opportunity to engage more deeply with each artist’s practice beyond the exhibition timeline.

    All works are held on site and can be viewed in the gallery or online. Our team is always available to assist with viewings, recommendations, or further information.
